⚠️ Is this a complete diet? We are not claiming that it is.

The can itself says Mousse Can for Cat. It carries no nutritional adequacy statement, and neither we nor our manufacturer has produced one. Until 2 September 2026 this product was listed on our website as a "Complete Meal". That wording was on our website and never on the can, and we have removed it. The laboratory reports below establish what is in the food and that it passed the contaminant and pathogen limits it was tested against. They do not establish that it supplies everything a cat needs as a sole diet.

If wet food is your cat's main diet, pair it with a food that does carry an adequacy statement, or ask your vet. We would rather tell you this than sell you a can on a word we cannot support.

One further inconsistency we are disclosing rather than hiding: the feeding table printed on our can gives a full daily ration by body weight, which reads as sole-diet guidance even though no adequacy statement accompanies it. We have flagged it for review.

Who makes it, and to what standard

These cans are made by Shandong Zhongke Kangyuan Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Yishui County, Shandong, China. This is a different factory from the one that makes our dry cat food, so the certifications we publish for the dry food factory do not cover these cans. We have requested this factory's licences and will publish what we receive.

The can is manufactured to executive standard Q/371323SDZK601. A code beginning Q/ denotes an enterprise standard — one written and filed by the manufacturer itself, rather than a national (GB), industry (NY/T) or group (T/) standard. We point this out because most packs print a standard code and leave you to assume it is a public one.

🧪 What an independent laboratory measured

All four flavours were tested by Centre Testing International (Qingdao) Co., Ltd., an accredited laboratory — CNAS L4157, CMA 241520340452. CNAS is a signatory to the ILAC Mutual Recognition Arrangement, the framework under which laboratory reports are recognised across 120-odd economies.

The samples were four intact retail cans of each flavour, received 2 June 2026 and tested 2–8 June 2026. Kopipets — Surplus Media Pte. Ltd. — commissioned the testing directly and is named on the reports as the applicant.

Methods: melamine NY/T 1372-2007 · crude protein GB/T 6432-2018 · salmonella GB/T 13091-2018. The limit applied to melamine was 2.5 mg/kg.

You do not have to take our word for any of this. Go to mycti.cti-cert.com, enter the report number and the verification code from the table above, and the laboratory's own records will come back to you. We are publishing the codes precisely so that you can do that — a document we hand you can be faked, and a check you run yourself cannot.

Why the measured numbers differ from the ones printed on the can. Our label declares crude protein ≥10.0% and moisture ≤82.0%. Those are a floor and a ceiling, not measurements. Convert them to a dry matter basis and you get 55.6% protein; convert the measured figures for the same flavour and you get 48.2%. Our own label, read that way, flatters the food by more than seven percentage points. That is why we publish the lab values.

What these reports do not cover. Eight items were tested on each can: melamine, crude protein, crude ash, crude fibre, crude fat, moisture, salmonella and E. coli. They do not cover taurine, amino acid profile, heavy metals or aflatoxin. Taurine is on our additives list but has never been measured. The E. coli method sits outside the laboratory's CNAS accredited scope and is marked as such on the reports themselves; the other seven items are inside it.

And they cover these cans only. Our dry cat food is a different product from a different factory and is not covered by any of these reports. We are arranging separate independent testing for it, and we will publish those results when they arrive, whatever they say.
